The Boy Atop the Junk

The boy atop the junk,

Filth below, dreams up high,

Aspirations touching the sky.

Eyes full of wonder,

Hands everywhere,

Waste or treasure, nobody to share.

A comb, a book, hair ties and shoe,

A marble, fridge, a rocking chair,

He poked around, without a care.

His mind, it held the hope of kings,

This was his arena, full of wins,

No catch too small, nothing to lose,

He came up with a clever ruse.

"I'll shut my eyes as my soul wanders,

Let God guide my hand".

He walked about, halting here and there,

His fingers extended with faith,

A knife, a needle, broken glass,

Glistening and lying in wait.

If you think this is a poem,

Think again...

Coz you're the boy and life's the junk -

What are you praying for, and what will you find?

Now open your eyes and hit the grind.

Destiny

 All she wanted was love,

That was all he took away.

In his wake, what he left behind,

Was less than who she was before.

Her drive and energy waning,

She tried so hard to hold on.

Hoping for a miracle,

That never came.

Lives around her seemed to float,

And she watched them from up above,

Dreamily, wondering, where had she gone wrong.

She could walk away, she thought,

If only these invisible chains crack.

But her mind was strong yet soft,

That held them in place.

The elephant, with its leg in a rope,

The circus driving its frame.

Move, you bad animal,

She whispered,

Run away.

The creature, with moist eyes,

Blinked and stayed.

My master loves me.

And this is my destiny.

Smile Divine

That smile... It touched my heart,

I felt warm, I was glowing,

Just with that smile of yours,

You made me smile.

I looked carefully, trying to unravel,

What was it about that smile,

I felt like a teenager with her first crush,

That mad rush of ecstasy.

It made me want to fly,

And run in the wild outdoors,

Thanking the lord for the sun and breeze,

Life seemed perfect,

Just with that smile of yours.

The way your eyes crinkled,

When you smiled and looked away,

Pure innocence, more than a child,

Beauty personified.

Never have I seen a view,

As pretty as your smile,

My heart beat fast,

My mind wanders to thoughts unbenign,

So unlike me, unladylike,

I want to laugh with you,

Loud and free,

And hold your face in my hands,

Touch your lips, look into your eyes,

Draw you close,

As you continue to smile.

I feel so brave, and helpless, I can't stop,

As you smile, you make me want to go further,

Not caring what happens next,

I could hug you, but then I won't see that smile,

And I can't stop looking at it,

It's magical, has me spellbound,

That smile.

Time flies as you continue to smile,

Your words fall on deaf ears,

I'm distracted, I try to concentrate,

But your smile steals my senses.

Pure rapture throbbing in my veins.

I can't wait to see it again.

That smile.

I've found my drug, I'm addicted.

You blush, and I can't help staring,

You could make me do anything with that smile.

The thought of not seeing it again makes me desolate.

We're strangers, and yet,

I'm in love with that smile.

And I can't wait to see it again....

Fantasy

You confessed how much you love me,

And how I mean to you, the world,

You draw me close, so gently,

Turning mine upside down.

Your body beneath my touch,

Shimmering like a jewel,

My breath, rugged and hard,

I'm feeling ecstatic, wild, drunk,

Basking in your bewitching warmth.

Nothing means more than you to me,

I hope it lasts forever, this moment,

So perfect, so divine,

Where I'm yours, you're mine.

A shiver runs down my spine,

Threatening to make me lose control,

Each word you say sounds magical,

Every sound echoes in my veins,

I could just as well be your shadow,

You've got total control,

I don't belong to me no more.

The way you look at me, that smile,

That wonder, glorified,

As if I'm the air you breathe,

And the last drop on the parched sand,

You grasp me tight, that wicked embrace,

I feel pain, I'm safe,

Surrounded by your love,

That you won't tire of professing,

Day after day after yet another day.

Is this a dream come true,

Is this my destiny coming alive,

The love that I yearned for,

Is finally all mine.

Dream last night

I dreamt of you last night.

I know I dreamt of you last night.

I don't know why I dreamt of you last night.

In my dreams, you were at my beck and call.

Watching out for me, taking care of my wants.

As you did, back then, in real life.

You stayed by me at my worst,

Allowed and forgave my obnoxious self.

You said you could do anything to make me happy.

And that's exactly how I remember you in my dream last night.

Not so long ago, I could have had anything.

I just had to say the word.

You didn't have much to give,

But all that you could you handed over to me freely.

Now that we haven't spoken in ages,

I wonder how I dreamt of you last night.

Maybe you're lingering in my memories,

Perhaps you're prancing in my head.

Without me knowing or admitting it.

But I dreamt of you last night,

And I've been restless since then.

Don't you come back in my dreams again.

The way you did last night.

It leaves me with a sense of loss,

And yearning to see you again.

But not in my dreams at night.

Oh to find the one you love....

Oh to find the one you love....
And the one who stands by you.
Come rain or shine, this single soul
Makes all your hopes come true.

He keeps you warm when the nights are cold
And becomes the cool breeze in summers
He knows value lies in depth and feeling
Not in money or numbers.

It's not about those good times
Or the parties you went to,
It's about the times you cried on his shoulder
And he knew what to say or just sob along too.

He supports you when the goin gets tough
And when you're wrong as well
The only thing he doesn't do
Is leave you alone and miserable as hell.

There will be fights and there will be pain,
But what there won't be is insecurity
You will always know he's by your side
No fear of abandonment or infidelity.

You know you mean the most to him
And your word uttered can change his goal
Of all the things he can have or lose
Your forlorn face is his greatest toll.

Vacations and gifts are all appearances
Moments are what matters most
The times he put work and self behind
Are the times you cherish and boast.

He knows how to make you smile
When everything seems desolate,
Sometimes with a book, whisky, movie or chocolate
Sometimes with a sermon on fate.

Oh to find the one you love....
And the one who stands by you.
It doesn't meant a lifetime of joy,
But you sure won't be lonely when blue.

... And I hope you find him (or her).

Just Another Women's Day

Women’s Day they cheer,
Fortune favors the brave;
And yet this “kick-ass” woman,
Cannot her sanity save.
I marvel at the ladies
That saunter tough with grace,
I fail at half they do
And scamper to save face.
Fear and anxiety
Are my eternal mates,
I can’t help but wonder,
At folks who accept their fates.
I am my self’s enemy,
I am my own friend,
Everything starts with me,
And I beget my own end.
I’m tired of fighting my soul,
A creature so wild and free;
Taming it takes up all I got,
And leaves not an ounce of peace wee.
Torn between good and immoral,
I toil and douse the fire in my heart;
Doing what the world deems right,
Yet feel so empty in every part.
My soul claims each breath,
Every step I take is mine,
And still at the close of it all,
Nothing seems fine.
Coz some like me who appear,
To have it all together;
Are the weakest when dawn breaks,
As we assemble in our cap each feather.
When the sun comes up,
We rise with determination new,
Wish all the good we do unto you,
Would come back to us someday, too.
For now we wait and watch,
And go with the flow but fickle;
Veiling our powers and dreams,
That you sell for a dime and nickel.

More power to all of us, ladies.
And the men, who sometimes need more confidence, support and motivation than the erstwhile “weaker” sex.

Listless and a Poem For Pop n Maa

I am getting old.

Birthdays don't excite me anymore.

Of course, I'm getting old. Crossed 30 last year.

(Hell, that's still a lot younger than how I feel inside.)

(At least at the moment.)

When one imagines oneself, age ceases to matter and you only look at your past and future without serious consideration regarding the chronological details.

However, my current (longstanding) circumstances and stress make me feel like a crappy, scraggy old hag who feels meh about everything and excited about (almost) nothing.

Like the Annual Award I bagged in office for all my contributions throughout the year. Like my son's second birthday that we plan to celebrate with pomp and ceremony this November. Like watching movies, reading, travelling and book writing which have been my childhood passions and ambitions.

I just don't have the fire.

Amazing how someone or some situation can completely suck the life out of you.

Strike that.

It's not amazing.

It sucks.

Real bad.

When I used to fantasize about my life, it was quite like the things people post on Facebook - all happy, hunky dory stuff which makes others (mostly) envious and (some) joyous. Ironically, my timeline of memories looks more lively than my recent updates.

I know people say that all those FB posts are hogwash and it's just attention seeking behaviour. Well, what can I say. They succeed!

I know folks say you ought to count your blessings. I am a stupid woman who does not understand that maxim.

I know the Gita says you should do your karma without expecting any return. I am not that pious or generous.

I feel out of place and forced to behave normal on days when I am low. Is this what's called depression?

I am doing very well at work, this is probably the best phase of my career, but I just want to take a sabbatical. I don't want to interact with anyone. I don't want to be alone. I don't want to think about the next meal or the next salary. I want to do all I can for my family. I want to make them happy. I don't care what anyone says about me. I want to fight for my rights. I want to not bother about anything or anyone.

I used to be full of spunk and energy. I used to always have a plan and a big smile on my face.

I am getting old. It's now a task to gather myself and do some things that excited me before.

Yes, I am reading - finished the 3 trilogy by Shobha Nihalani. Going on to The Girl with All the Gifts. Got a few more tucked into my to-read shelf. Trying to blog when I can. Came to know that Roadies X4 has begun so catching up with that. Been partying with the friends and colleagues at Bar Stock Exchange, Fly High, Cuba Libre. Watched Sultan and found it boring. Hate India and Indians for letting Salman go scott-free....

But end of the day. Duh. Listless. Lonely. Tired of it all.

But my parents... Damn! They're a different, unique breed. So energetic and enthusiastic about life though they are twice(+) my age!

Here's a little something for them. Coz they're awesome!

***

Dear Mom and Pop, Abba and Ammi,

Been a while since I wrote to you,
My anger more tangible and frequent than my affection;
My actions and thoughts receive your support,
Even when they deserve beration.

As I look back at all that you’ve done for me,
And I look forth at your unconditional love;
I realize that whatever I say or do for you,
Could hardly be enough.

The annoyance comes and goes,
As people we’re poles apart;
And yet I know that I will always,
Adore you from my heart.

So blessed to have a relation,
So profound and not sham;
Coz I thank you for being who you are,
And I applaud you for making me who I am.

 ***

“The most beautiful feeling in the world is to see your parents smiling, and knowing that you are the reason behind that smile.” I wish I could give them more reasons and less hurt.

No matter how badly I fell or failed, they have always been there to pick me up and boost my confidence. They have always treated me like a winner, and that is the reason for all my achievements in life.

Papa, Mummy, Abba, Ammi - Thank you for always forgiving me, accepting me and encouraging me with your words and actions. Raising Aarush is teaching me how much you love me, and he is more fortunate than I am to have outstanding grandparents like you. Thank you for being the best parents and grandparents in the world. I love you.

Forever indebted,

Anuja

We're Too Different ...

Well, hello there!

Been a while since I penned poetry, a realization that dawned when a fellow poet and colleague shared his creations.

Somehow poetry is the last thing on my mind even as I contemplate a hundred imaginary things on a daily basis. To set words in rhyme needs a very positive frame of mind, and galloping behind a kid is not a very conducive environment for that, you see.

However, here is a little something that flowed out not so long ago...
The context we shall ignore, but here's the poem for you to mull over.

All you people who think compatibility is a concern when two individuals are poles apart in thought (not values). This should leave a mark and set you thinking...

You say we are too different,
And I heartily agree.
But how different
Are we exactly?

I love you,
Don't you love me?
You miss me,
Don't I miss thee?

Being different is a boon,
It makes us a formidable force.
To tackle all the challenges,
That knock on our doors.

It means the best of both worlds,
We can give to our lucky lives.
The crazy and sensible stuff I bring
To your practical and unplanned side.

I do what you enjoy,
And you do as I say.
We rejoice and succeed together,
Come what obstacle may.

It won't be too easy,
Far from a cakewalk divine.
But I know I shall be yours forever,
And you mine until the end of time.

That's what brought us together,
Only to drive us apart.
We can sort out all the mess,
If we try from the heart.

Be the man of my dreams,
And I'll be your wife charming.
I don't want to let you go,
You're my life, my darling.

I know I can be tough,
Yet I belong to you.
If I am my worst at times,
Help me be better, won't you?

I'll try all I can
To make you smile, my dear
Will you not try as well,
To keep us both near?

Let's make a life pleasant,
And gift to each other ease
Let's bring back to our lives,
Success, joy and peace.

Maybe this test of time
Was a wake up call for us,
Maybe we ought to consider
Before we miss the bus.

The ball now lies
Rolling in your court.
You're the general and leader
Of my heart and our fort.

Choose wisely!

And for those who are waiting in the wings wanting you to fail...

Nimbu mirchi to them ;-)

Live it up!

Letter To a Lonely Heart

This is a really ancient post... and considering that the person I wrote it for is neither in touch nor will ever be, I think it's okay to post it, as fiction if we're not comfortable with owning up to its reality.

Just to let us know that people who don't deserve love need it the most, and people who seem tough outside are really warm when you get to know them... So give everyone a second chance... And for some, give them at least one chance rather than staying hard and haughty.

***

Hey XYZ,

We haven’t been talking for some time now. For reasons best known to you and not completely unfamiliar to me. But that doesn’t mean you’ve been off my mind. Though obviously I’ve not quite figured in your scheme of things. The happy-go-lucky and pragmatic chap that you are…

However, the last time you really opened up to me remains etched in my memory like a scratch on a rock. You told me about yourself. About who you really were and what you’ve been through.
I remember you asking me once whether I’d had a difficult childhood. I got offended; it was a pathetic joke. Never quite appreciated your scalding sense of humor and your habit of cracking up at others’ expense and on their weakness. In turn, I asked you if your childhood was troubled… And you said yes. Simply that one word… Yes.

I’m not one to judge people by their past or reputation. I don’t think that’s fair. People change, life changes and one can never have seen or learnt everything in life. Yet your story made me sensitive to the fact that you’ve been through hard times, and if that can’t justify your bitterness, it can at least give you the benefit of a doubt. After all, a divorced mother turning her elder penniless son out of the house must have been a tough situation for the both of you. And why?

Just coz the son was tired of cycling endless miles day after day and his estranged dad suggested that he buy him a motorbike. Not fair. I wonder what reasons your mum had for taking this ruthless step, and never turning back…

You said you stayed at the bus stop for four days, as you had no place to go and no one to turn to. I remained silent. You told me you rationed out peanuts as you had no money even for a bite or for a hotel room. I was quiet. You said you somehow found a job, and started your life afresh. I was still speechless. And then, you helped your mum and sibling in times of need, without being appreciated or respected.

And still I could not say a word.

I was very touched, let there be no doubt about that. I could feel what you’ve felt. The pain I experienced sitting on that chair in the pantry at work was as intense as the hurt you went through at the bus stop. You know, it doesn’t always need a person to experience the same things physically to absorb how they would feel mentally and emotionally.

My eyes were moist as I clung to every word you spoke, yet my lips were mute. I did not want to insult what you were sharing with me, by saying something that you would find inappropriate or demeaning. I did not want to offer empathy; I wanted to applaud your strength and bravery. I could not react, I was afraid I’d do something that would make you clam up and end your narration. I certainly knew you wanted no pity, but as much as I wanted to place my hand on your arm or hug you, I felt that wasn’t right either.

I’m sorry. I feel stupid that I just sat like a dumb duck while you spoke.

But I care.

I hope you know that.

I thank you for trusting me with your story and allowing me to sense your vulnerability. That’s a courageous thing to do. More so, because I know that you did not do it with the intention of garnering sympathy or boasting.
I just have one thing to tell you now that I’ve made my sentiments known - Don’t let the rancor of your past ruin your or someone else’s present. Don’t wreck your relationships showering your hatred or hostility on those who do not deserve it. And also don’t rush to those who only pretend to be loving and supporting you.

But of course you’re smart enough to figure that out for yourself.
Take care.
Princess

(In case XYZ continues to visit my blog and reads this, hi you and hope you're doing fine. I wish you well always, even though you really hurt me so many times. I feel a special bond with you, no clue why. I guess lonely hearts connect in weird ways. Goodbye and good luck.)

Happy New Year All... Ho Ho Ho!!

Happy Holidays and Occasions

Hi My Lovelies,

The festive season is here and most of you must be having a gala time enjoying the winter (if you're on this side of the globe). Pune's freezing and sultry at different times of the day and night, but overall it's a fairly pleasant phase of the year. Christmas and New Year is around the corner. I wish you loads of luck and laughter all the year round!

On that very formal note, let me also tell you that my Uncle (Abba) celebrated his 67th birthday last week. This wonderful occasion was also complemented by his housewarming function. To express my love and gratitude, I wrote a poem for him, which I shall share here:

A birthday is a special day to celebrate,
All the good and better things that life has bestowed on us.
But it is made even more special,
By stepping into a house made with a lot of hope and a little fuss.

I see you and your strength,
And I know there is a tender man within.
Somebody who had made me who I am,
You have been a father and guide to me through thick and thin.

All those precious moments,
That I spent with you laughing, fighting and learning;
Shine like sparkling stars on my mind,
I thank God for you, you’re my superstar, youthful and rocking.

As a child you taught me to read,
You nurtured my passion for books and education.
I cherish you with all my heart,
I can never forget your kindness and motivation.

We have had our ups and downs,
Strong bonds have times of quiet and noise.
Your successes have been mine,
And yours have been my joys.

I can’t promise that I will always make you happy,
There will be new reasons to rejoice and argue every day.
But one thing is certain, I shall adore you,
Even though our feelings we may not say.

I wish you all the happiness,
On this day and forever.
May your heart be filled with satisfaction and peace,
My prayers are with you ever after.

More than comforts, I wish you care.
More than pretty walls, I wish you a life fair.
More than fancy accessories, I wish you success.
More than decorative paintings, I wish you happiness.

Make your new home your castle,
We hope you now relax and put your feet up.
You deserve it!!

Happy Birthday and Merry Housewarming!

* The last 2 paragraphs were inspired from the net and edited to suit the context.

Needless to say, everyone who read it loved it. I haven't written poetry in donkey's years - just don't get the time to write anymore - call it laziness or busy-ness. But this special day sure required me to let my creative juices flow. After all, he was the one that encouraged the budding poet and writer in me.

Wish him a long, healthy and happy life... and wish you all the same, too!

Cheers and see you soon!

"Cloud"ed

I wandered lonely as a cloud,

(But don't they flock in groups so sook?)

Underneath me, the world moved,

Nobody to spare a wave or look.

The trees and shrubs rustled their leaves,

Mocking my lonely passage in space;

I showed that I didn't care a bit,

Belied by my voyeur pace.

I watched the merry streams frolic,

My snow white fleece darkened by my sorrow;

I wanted to disappear, vanish, evaporate,

Like there was no yesterday, today or tomorrow.

In pensive thought I stood and rocked,

Moments felt like days and months;

You drifted past as I trudged behind,

The breeze to me what you were once;.

When does it stop, I mused aloud,

Exactly how does it all end;

A cloud with me to stay for life,

Where can I find you, my friend?

Thanks to William Wordsworth for the opening line of this poem, taken from the super popular and awesomely famous creation "Daffodils".

My own two-pence (twenty lines, actually) to follow it... Hopefully should get 1/1000th the recognition and 100% mental connection.

A wanderer's fantasy

(This poem was conceived as an entry into an Indiblogger contest : one that promises a trip to Melbourne, no less!! And if that does not sound worth it or exciting, then you MUST visit this website : www.visitmelbourne.com/in )

Founded in 1835,
Hey you can call me naive!
But I'm going to Melbourne soon,
And I'd need facts to stay alive.

As I step out of the Tullamarine,
An airport so huge and fine;
I marvel at the City of Literature,
The street art as rich as full-bodied wine.

Unravelling the numerous charms,
Hidden in the city divine;
The aura and versatility,
Enthrall the body, heart and mind.

Struck by wanderlust,
I "shuffle" through the Melbourne lanes;
Having my fill of the Australian cultural capital,
My fatigue and boredom wanes.

A lively, ambitious teenager hoping to study further,
I held Melbourne inspiring and dear;
(Did you know Cate Blanchett, Rupert Murdoch
And Kylie Minogue were born here?)

A hop, skip and jump,
On and off the free City Circle tram;
The Docklands and Cooks' Cottage,
Gift me memories unforgettable and glam.

Melbourne Aquarium whisks me away,
To the waterworld and kingdom of swim;
Level 88 on Melbourne’s Tower Eureka,
Seems more incredible than a crazy whim.

My highest flight of fancy ain't a match,
For balloon flights teasing the clouds,
The greeter's service makes me comfy and welcome.
I feel one with the jovial crowds.

As I think of home and family,
The "Indian" River Lagoon strikes a chord;
Lookout areas that transport me to paradise,
And causeways ingenious and broad.

Chinatown, gardens, spa, events and zoos,
Melbourne's got it all;
Eat, explore, shop and make merry,
I rejoice until I fall.

As my reverie ends,
And I ponder when and how,
Indiblogger and Visit Melbourne whisper,
... It's your time to visit Melbourne NOW!

Cheerio!!

When I gave you up...

When I gave you up,
I forsake a life of insecurity,
I embraced a new hope,
When I gave you up.

When I gave you up,
I let go of the fears that you bestowed,
I razed my compromised wishes,
And dared to live,
When I gave you up.

When I gave you up,
I chose a strength,
One that let me be me,
And not cower under your desires,
I opened my eyes to courage,
When I gave you up.

When I gave you up,
I learnt that I was not less significant,
That I was not merely a tool for your happiness,
To be there for you when you were low,
I deserved to be prized and treasured too,
I saw my own value,
When I gave you up.

When I gave you up,
I felt the pain and anguish,
Of losing what is held close and divine,
What I thought was the necklace adorning me,
Was the very noose that tightened around my neck,
Every moment I nurtured you and squashed my needs,
I relinquished a life of servitude,
When I gave you up.

When I gave you up,
Freedom and joy seemed strange,
A novelty I was afraid to get used to,
I sought your hand in mine,
I screamed in my head for you to come and hug me,
Tell me that my place was with you,
But Fate could see me sad no more.
It gave me a new chance, a better one,
When I gave you up.

When I gave you up,
I realised that I was not really giving you up,
I was only moving on to what lay ahead,
It was priceless, and it was my destiny,
That I shied away from, coz I called you my own,
A new love, a greater existence,
Where I could demand and expect,
Not that it was required, coz the world was placed at my feet,
I met somebody that outshone you a thousand times,
When I gave you up.

And now as I thank the person that loves me beyond my wildest dreams,
I am so thankful that I gave you up…

As I walk along with my angel sent down from paradise,
I rejoice that I gave you up…
And I wish I’d given you up sooner…

Blessed... To Have U

Happy Valentine's Day, you'all...

I thought I was perfect,
Though my world was a jumble;
When I see the way you adore me,
Your love makes me feel humble.

Your eyes, they speak a million words,
The warmth they bestow upon me is divine;
Your gaze transports me to heaven,
You’re my guardian angel so fine.

Stand by me, your arms say,
As you clutch me in your embrace;
My fears and worries take flight,
I could stay that way for days.

Could I be so fortunate?
To have you to love and call my own;
You make me feel like a queen,
Your heart is my treasure, my throne.

It’s unbelievable, they way you’re there for me,
So incredible is your passion, fore-sightedness and care;
And then you say you’re fortunate to have me,
That your world without me is bare.

You’ve made me lose my inhibitions,
With you I feel so brave;
Within moments I have in my palm,
Anything that I recollect or crave.

It drives me insane, your need for me,
It places me on cloud nine;
I want to scream to the world,
You’re mine, all mine, all mine!

You seem to know me better than myself,
Your trust scares me, is it misplaced, I wonder?
Will you be happy and proud of us,
In times of hail, sunshine and thunder?

My thousand words fail, when you utter “I love you”,
All I want is to make you mine;
If I let you go away,
All my life I’ll regret and pine.

Knowing what I do, and believing what I see,
How can I ever deny?
That you’re my one and only,
Every hurdle and rule, for me, you’d defy.

To have someone that’s devoted,
Is a feat knotty and rare;
And yet, when I behold you,
My heart wishes to dream and dare.

They tell me this won't last,
They say love is a mirage, a deception;
I laugh at them all, and their blindness,
Coz what we have, you and I, is surely no illusion.

Come, my beloved, hold my hand,
And we’ll walk away from the world and its pain galore;
With you lies my future and destiny,
I could never ask for more...

Honoured to be,

Things Fall Apart... And how...

I want you to miss me,
I want you to want me all the time;
To know that I’m the one and only for you,
I’d give my last and only dime.

I want to hear you sigh,
I want to listen to you say;
I made a difference like nobody never before,
That I was perfect for you in every way.

They tell me I ought to get over you,
The fools they know not the pain;
Even now when I see you looking at me,
It makes me blush, drives me insane.

As you strut around without a worry,
I yearn to sneak a peek at what’s inside;
I want to hope against hope it’s a mess,
That within me your peace and joy reside.

I want to know I was your pillar,
I seek to hear you made a blunder;
That you’d never find another like me coz I
Was meant to be your lifelong companion and lover.

Just how foolish could I be,
How naïve and injudicious;
To trust someone like you with my heart,
Was a move silly, lethal and capricious.

Fate’s but a funny thing,
For those that stand and watch;
For me, it was the harbinger of disappointment and dread,
When my sorrow climbed another notch.

I say I’m better off now,
With an uneasiness in my heart;
I know we could have been together,
But now we’re miles apart.

I have no one but me to blame,
And as I look for my gaffes and errs;
I look at you stalking other targets,
And my spirit’s about to burst.

Oh to be as brazen as you,
So phony and awfully devious;
And portray an image so hate-able,
Calm, manipulative and mischievous.

I wipe a silent tear,
As I teach my mind to beware;
I know daily zillion tears like mine are shed,
Coz a million of you lurk everywhere.

I wish I could say watch out,
The worst for you is yet to come;
But I know justice is a myth,
And hoping for it is dumb.

I say a sullen prayer,
Ridding my mind of hate and gloom,
Coz I see a garden void of deceit,
And flowers soon shall bloom.

Stay happy…
