Life's Little Instruction Book

Bon Jour!

Wana share a cute mail wid u. It gives some pointers on how to lead a better life (no, not by dieting and meditating), but rather by following some simple rules. I loved it, and I’ve pinned a printout on my soft-board. It inspires me everyday, and reminds me how joys are hidden in the smallest of things/acts. Leme kno how you find it...

*** Life's Little Instruction Book ***

Always accept an outstretched hand.

Answer the phone with enthusiasm and energy in your voice.

Avoid sarcastic remarks.

Be a good loser. Be a good winner.

Be bold &courageous. When you look back on life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did.

Be confident. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.

Be modest. A lot was accomplished before you were born.

Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.

Begin each day with some of your favorite music.

Believe that miracles happen everyday.

Beware of the person who has nothing to lose.

Choose your life's mate carefully. From this one decision will come 90% of all your happiness or misery.

Compliment the meal when you're a guest in someone's home.

Count your blessings.

Don't allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It's there for your convenience, not the caller's.

Don't burn bridges. You'll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river.

Don't expect life to be fair.

Give people a second chance, but not a third.

Have a firm handshake.

If in a fight, hit first and hit hard.

Keep a note pad and pencil on your bed-side table. Million-dollar ideas sometimes strike at 3 a.m.

Keep secrets.

Life’s not as complicated as you make it out to be.

Live your life so that your epitaph could read, No Regrets.

Look people in the eye.

Loosen up. Relax. Except for rare life-and-death matters, nothing is as important as it seems.

Make it a habit to do nice things for people who will never find out.

Make someone's day by paying the toll for the person in the car behind you.

Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all that they have.

Never give up on anybody.

Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.

Once in a while, take the scenic route.

Own a great stereo system.

Remember no one makes it alone. Have a grateful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who helped you.

Remember that 80% of the success in any job is based on our ability to deal with people.

Send a lot of Valentine cards. Sign them, 'Someone who thinks you're terrific.'

Send your loved ones flowers. Think of a reason later.

Show respect for everyone who works for a living, regardless of how trivial their job.

Sing in the shower.

Take charge of your attitude. Don't let someone else choose it for you.

Think twice before burdening a friend with a secret.

Visit friends and relatives when they are in hospital; you need only stay a few minutes.

Wave at the children on a school bus.

When playing games with children, let them win.

When someone hugs you, let them be the first to let go.

Cute, na?!! Lets see how many actually struck a chord wid you, and how many can actually put you to task! You never know what, when, how and why something might trigger you and lead u onto the path for self-realization and bliss... Life can change in a second for reasons unimaginable and indescribable... Discover your reason!

Your companion all the way...
Lonely Princess

P.S : I was wondering whether or not to tell you this... But it ain't fair when I tell you everything else, to hide this from you... I'm quitting my job. And I'm happy! I will miss the comfort of a steady salary in the days to come, but I know I need some time off to do the things I love to do (like go for morning walks, laze around in the day, read a lot, meet people, decide if I want to study, etc). You know friends, money is the least of our troubles, we need to live life NOW... Coz once this moment passes, it's never gona come back... Do what your heart says, God will take care of the rest :-) Aane wala pal jaane wala hai, ho sake toh isme zindagi bita do, pal jo ye jaane wala hai... Love always!

P.P.S : And if I don't blog often enough, pardon me and leave me a comment. Shall get back to you soon! Cheers!!

P.P.P. S : Now this is silly of me, I know... But jus HAD to tell you that I finished Almost Single in a single week, and have now started New Moon! Happy reading :-)

Hey Bhanu,

Thanks for your comments... It feels real nice to see that you read and respond to what I rant about :-)

My favorite ones? The one about modesty - a lot was done before you were born, and nothing will stop if you cease to exist. Also the one that says Beware of those with nothing to lose... It's what they say in Hindi "nange se duniya darti hai"...

The ones about paying for the driver after ou, and sending anonymous cards is also cute... And makes life's moments so memorable and special!!

Okie, now what do you mean by "pasting flowers"?? The only flowers I can see on the blog right now are in my profile pic...

Why am I lonely princess? Coz hum bheed mein bhi tanhai mehsoos karte hai aksar... And I am comfy with my solitude.

Cheers to that!

Keep writing :-)
