Someone who'd understand her...
Someone who wouldn't hurt her...
The one who could make butterflies fly in her stomach with his cute words and adorable acts...
He who would always stand by her come what may...
That person who would care for her, her needs and feelings selflessly... unconditionally...
The guy who'd make her feel like a pampered kid...
And the man who could make her feel like a beautiful and wantable woman...
That wonderful individual who'd do anything to see the smile on her face... to wipe the tears before they appeared on her cheeks...
Someone who'd give up the world for her joy and love.....................
Did sucha person really exist?
Would she ever find him?
Would he truly like and respect her??
Would he stay with her forever???
The young princess looked out her pretty marble window immersed deep in thought. She stayed in a huge tower like Rapunzel, but she did not have the famed long blonde hair that her Prince Charming could use to climb up to her. Didn't need them anyway... What were the stairs for?!!! Old romantic tales were so tacky and melodramatic!!
However, she sure could do with some romance in her life... All her childhood years, she'd heard, read and watched on TV stories of love and mush, of couples who met and lived happily ever after... She knew friends were important, but nobody was as essential as that one lifelong companion who one couldn't live without...
She knew she'd meet him sooner or later. And she has grandiose ideas about her soulmate. Though she had heard "noone's perfect", it didn't stop her from visualizing and dreaming away... Nothing could rein in her imaginative yearning. You know how those crazy teenage years are!! So full of hope and desire for miracles and love...
The courtiers' kids played below, full of cheer and contentment, unaware of the overhead brooding of the fine princess. The royal girl envied their bliss... Her own thoughts oscillated between the past and future, never staying in the present for more than was absolutely necessary. Sorrow and frustration seemed to be her constant mates, and she was so sick of it all... Being a princess wasn't all kicked up it's meant to be...
And who knew that better than her? There were smiles and pleasures and luxuries of course, but they did not mean much to her. As usual, the one who has it, never values it. The beggar doesn't value his freedom and the busy professional cares a damn for his hectic schedule. Such is life!!
As she wallowed in her overpowering sadness, a bowl clanged in the kitchen. Teh maids always created sucha din as they worked. They chatted about trivial stuff or cribbed about their families and inflation. They gossipped and they quarrelled. And they enjoyed every second they led... Living in the moment, that's what it's called, eh?
The wait was getting tedious. When the hell was her Prince Charming going to come? Was he asleep after having the poisoned apple akin Sleeping Beauty? Or was he living the life of a frog akin the Frog Prince? Despite her impatience, the princess knew she'd never give up.
She'd promised her father, the King of the Seven Lands, that she'd stay away from the entire world and kingdom as long as she had to, if only she was granted a peaceful life with her beloved, when she met him...
She was bad-tempered but kind, and there were those that admired her sensibility and intelligence. Not many knew that she cried in her sleep, coz she bestowed gigantic smiles on all those who happened to glance at her. The villagers called out to her as they passed her window, and she always came running, ready to hear their worries and joys. She was a friend to everyone, a counselor to many and an ideal for a few.
But ask her what she thought of herself...
The answer was always the same...
Lonely...
Waiting...
When will her Prince come to take her away?
When???
Completely insane, bluntly stated, funnily accurate, very subjective, surprisingly universal. The story could be about me, about you or about nobody. Philosophy, rants, opinions, trivia or gyaan. This is me! And this is Life... You can love it, you can hate it. But you can't forget it! Welcome dear reader! Your dull, lonely days are over... Coz Princess is here! Cheerio!
