And finally…
I’m a Mrs.
Mrs. Singh :-)
June 29, 2012 is when the fateful event occurred – I tied
the knot with Akhilesh Pratap Singh who first met me at work and then became my
life.
(Ironically, the maha-mantra of his life was : Never date a person who lives near, studies or works with you. Fortunately or unfortunately, when cupid strikes, all these fancy fundas fall miserably flat.)
Also, like most men, regardless of their chronological age, his standard statement was, “I’m not getting married for the next 5 years”.
Flop funda number 2.
But let bygones be bygones. Now that we’re hitched and condemned to a blissful life together, all’s well that ends well… I shall pretend all his fundas and all his eccentricities are totally remarkable and wondrous. As will he.
“How does it feel to be a Mrs.?” “Hows married life?”
That’s the first question most people ask instead of daily greetings these days. “It’s great” I retort. And it is.
I’ve found myself a loving partner who can do anything for me. Mind you, these aren’t just words. If you know Mr. Singh, you know what I’m saying to be true.
He’s the most amazing-est person I know.
That’s why I married him :-)
It wasn’t easy. Right since the day he asked me out, we’ve battled various situations, sometimes together, sometimes alone. It was his faith in me and our relationship that not only got us dating, but also led us to struggle and fight with everyone who mattered (and some who didn’t) so that we could be man and wife. I’m proud of you, darling. I love you. Always will.
Thanks are also in order for the Rathi family – my parents, Abba and Ammi, brother and bhabhi. They’ve been a pillar of support throughout the rushed nuptials. Nothing was planned, everything went so smooth. It was miraculous. Love you, guys. Especially Shruti Rathi, my sis-in-law. I don’t know how I would’ve done all this without you. You’re fantastic, woman !!!
A quick honeymoon in Mahabaleshwar, and we’re back at work. My days are filled with planning to purchase a new flat somewhere in the vicinity of Yerwada, Pune. My nights… ahh! Let’s not go there ;-)
More to come later. Was feeling extremely guilty about not writing in earlier, so slipped in some time to update you about what’s been up lately.
Be good, guys. Will be back soon.
Cheerio!
